Videos You Can Upscale to 4K Free Online

Bring the video you already have. Each card says what resolution the free video upscaler gives you.

AI videos

Videos from Sora, Kling, Veo, Runway or Wan usually come out at 720p or 1080p. Upscale them here to 2K or 4K with better video quality — no account needed. Ultra gives the highest quality on desktop.

1080p HD videos

1080p HD video from a phone or camera is upscaled to 4K (3840×2160) for larger screens and 4K uploads. The audio stays exactly as recorded.

Low quality 720p videos

Old downloads, recordings and game videos at 720p are upscaled to 2K with better video quality. AI improves low quality video, but very low quality video cannot be fully restored.

Old videos

Old family movies and camcorder videos are upscaled 2× with better quality — 480p becomes 960p. Noise and very low quality limit how much the AI can improve.

How to Upscale Video to 4K Free

Three steps, nothing to install. The AI runs on your own device, so keep the tab open until the download is ready.

  1. Choose a video

Drop in an MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, TS, MTS or M2TS file. It has to be a video your browser can play; HDR video is not supported. The video stays on your device.

  2. Pick the AI model

The preview shows the first frame before and after. Small is fastest; Medium and Large give higher quality; Ultra gives the highest quality on desktop browsers with WebGPU. All four increase the resolution 2×.

  3. Download the finished file

Every frame is upscaled in your browser and the original audio is kept. You get an H.264 MP4 (or WebM when your browser cannot encode H.264) with no watermark, no account and no credits.

FAQ

Free 4K Video Upscaler — Questions

Straight answers about what the free browser tool can and cannot do.

01

Is this really free? Any watermark, daily limit or card?

Yes, free. There is no signup, no card, no watermark, no credits and no daily limit on the free video upscaler. The only limits come from your device: the resolution is increased 2× (up to 3840 pixels on the long edge on desktop, 1920 on iPhone and iPad), and speed depends on your GPU. All four AI models give the same size; Small is fastest, Ultra gives the highest quality.

02

Can I upscale a 720p video to 4K?

Not with the free tool. It upscales 2×, so 720p goes to 2560×1440 (2K) and 1080p goes to 3840×2160 (4K). For 4K from 720p or lower, use Pro on the homepage.

03

Does it work on AI videos from Sora, Kling or Veo?

Yes. AI videos from Sora, Kling, Veo, Runway or Wan are ordinary MP4 files, so they upscale like any other video: 720p to 2K and 1080p to 4K. Ultra usually gives the highest quality on these videos.

04

How long does it take, and what computer do I need?

Any recent desktop or laptop with Chrome or Edge works; the AI runs on your own GPU through WebGPU. A short 1080p video usually takes a few minutes with Small, Medium or Large. Ultra can drop below one frame per second without a powerful dedicated GPU. Phones and tablets run the smallest model only. Processing stops if you close the tab; you can pause and, on desktop Chrome or Edge, resume an interrupted large job. How much quality you gain depends on how low quality the original video is.

05

Which video formats work?

You can select MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, TS, MTS and M2TS files. Whether a file opens depends on the codecs your browser can decode; HDR and 10-bit video are not supported. If a file cannot be opened here, Pro on the homepage converts it for you.

06

Can it upscale old videos and old family movies?

Yes. Old family movies, digitized tapes and camcorder videos work like any other video and are upscaled 2× — 480p becomes 960p. Noise and very low quality limit how much the AI can improve. If you need 4K from an old video, use Pro on the homepage.

07

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, AI upscaling and encoding all run inside your browser on your own hardware. Nothing is sent to our servers, which is also why the tab has to stay open while it works.

08

What file do I get, and is the audio kept?

An H.264 MP4 with your original audio passed through unchanged. If your browser cannot encode H.264, the tool falls back to WebM and tells you first. If the original audio cannot be kept losslessly in either container, the task is refused before it starts instead of silently dropping the sound.
